Dr. Alana Shaw is a naturopathic physician and reproductive health leader with advanced training in reproductive and sexual health. She worked with the team at Grace Fertility Clinic, where she deepened her expertise in fertility support, menstrual health, and collaborative reproductive care. Her master’s-level research under the supervision of Dr. Cheung focused on integrative approaches to hormonal balance and fertility optimization.
Dr. Shaw is certified in IUD insertion and removal through the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC) and has completed CNPBC-approved hands-on training with Dr. Karen Parmar.
She further expanded her practical experience during a focused practicum at the Willow Clinic under the mentorship of Dr. Renee Hall, where she gained additional expertise in IUD procedures.
Dr. Shaw has also completed SOGC-accredited training in both medical abortion and trauma-informed care, ensuring she provides safe, respectful, and empowering support to patients making reproductive health decisions.
With extensive hands-on Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) training, Dr. Shaw has worked alongside expert sonographers and OB/GYNs at BC Women’s Hospital, St. Paul’s Hospital, and Olive Fertility Centre, enhancing her diagnostic and procedural skills in reproductive medicine.
